A Light in The Grey

Heute lassen wir uns von Wedding Design by Marvin Trevisi in eine moderne Welt mit nüchternem Glamour, einem Wechselspiel aus Farben und Formen und mit extravaganten Couturekleidern entführen. Inspiriert von dem Designhotel The Qvest in Köln inszenierte der beeindruckende Eventplanner mit viel Sinn für Ästhetik und Fine Art ein außergewöhnliches Editorial, das mit seinem minimalistischen Konzept jedes Detail glanzvoll in Szene setzt.

Hochzeitsfotografin Katja Ziegert begeistert mit ihrer ausdrucksstarken Bilderwelt, in der die Ideen des Eventplanners auf einzigartige Weise zur Geltung kommen.

Von Marvin Trevisi: „Die Fine Art Hochzeitsfotografin Katja Ziegert hat mir den ersten Impuls für das Shooting gegeben in dem sie mich auf das wunderschöne Hotel im Kölner Gereonsviertel aufmerksam machte. Ich besuchte das Designhotel und war begeistert vom Wechselspiel der Kontraste in Form & Farbe: Weiß, Grau & Schwarz, Licht & Dunkelheit, Sonnenschein & Schatten, klare Linien & weiche Formen. Ganz besonders beeindruckt hat mich jedoch der Kontrast zwischen der Bauart des Gebäudes im neo-gothischen Stil und der hoch modernen Inneneinrichtung bestehend aus den modernsten Designer-Möbeln. Neo-Gothic meets Simplicity. So würde ich die Aufmachung des Hotels beschreiben.

Zack! Da war sie meine Idee: Sober Glamour – „nüchterner Glamour“ – inspiriert von der Location. Basierend darauf habe ich das Konzept für das Shooting entworfen. Mir war es wichtig, dass das besondere Gebäude mit seinen aussagekräftigen Bögen, Wölbungen und Fenstern in das Shooting integriert wird.

Das Model und die Kleider von der Kölner Designerin Annika Maria Wedding Dresses sollten im Vordergrund stehen. Das moderne Model sollte das Licht in der antiken Location repräsentieren – A Light (Model ) in the Grey (Location). Bei der Auswahl der exklusiven Bridal Cotoure haben wir Wert auf extravagante Schnitte, Formen & Stoffe sowie auf moderne gelegt. Wer vereint diese Attribute wie Annika Maria? Kaum jemand.

Bei dem Make Up hat Maria Overath ein einfaches, natürliches Make-Up gezaubert, damit der Fokus auf den Models und deren Gesichtszügen lag. Bei den Bridal Accescoires wurde der Fokus auf minimalistisches Design gelegt. So fand ich die Essentials von Ariane Ernst sehr passend als Kontrast zu den auffälligen Kleidern und der prächtigen Location.

Für die Papeterie hat Andrea von Paperfold ebenfalls Klassik & Moderne kombiniert. Klassische Farben wie Schwarz & Weiß, eine Mischung aus romantischen Fonts und Blockschriften spiegeln das Gesamtkonzept auch in der Papeterie wider. Als Besonderheit hat Andrea eine Welcome Box gezaubert. Eine Welcome Box kann mit einigen Goodies wie z.B. Wegbeschreibung, Tagesablaufplan, Fächer für heiße Sommertage und in unserem Fall einer personalisierten Coronamaske sowie Desinfektionsmittel als kleines vorab Gastgeschenk zusammen mit der Einladung an das Brautpaar geschickt werden.

Der Floristik- und Dekostil war etwas wild & freier als sonst von Hochzeiten gewohnt. Shabby Chick Events hat zum Beispiel viel mit gerissenen Stoffen gearbeitet um auch hier wieder ein Kontrast zu der klassichen Location zu schaffen. Wie man sieht stand in jedem Teil des Shooting der Kontrast immer im Vordergrund. Bei der Stecktechnik der Blumen wurde mit verschiedenen Tiefen und Höhen gearbeitet um einen Wild-Look beizubehalten. Dieser Look wurde im Kontrast zu den alten Wänden & Fenstern sehr schön in den Mittelpunkt gerückt.

Florentine von La Fiorentina arbeitet ausschließlich mit vegetarischen und veganen Zutaten und hat für uns eine Torte in verschiedenen Grautönen und unterschiedlichsten Strukturen ausgearbeitet. Die Basis der Torte reflektiert die Location. Der abstrakte Cake Topper ist auch hier wieder als moderner Kontrast eingesetzt. Auf dem Tisch haben wir als Inspiration für ein weiteres Gastgeschenk je eine Mini-Version der großen Torte für alle Gäste bereitgestellt.

A Light in The Grey

Today we let Wedding Design by Marvin Trevisi take us to a modern world with sober glamour, an interplay of colors and shapes and with extravagant couture dresses. Inspired by the design hotel The Qvest in Cologne, the impressive event planner staged an extraordinary editorial with a great sense of aesthetics and fine art, which glamorously highlights every detail with its minimalist concept.

Wedding photographer Katja Ziegert inspires with her expressive world of images, in which the ideas of the event planner are shown to advantage in a unique way.

From Marvin Trevisi: „Fine Art wedding photographer Katja Ziegert gave me the first impulse for the shoot in which she drew my attention to the beautiful hotel in Cologne’s Gereonsviertel. I visited the design hotel and was thrilled by the interplay of contrasts in form & color: white, gray & black, light & darkness, sunshine & shadow, clear lines & soft shapes. However, I was particularly impressed by the contrast between the building’s neo-gothic style and the highly modern interior design consisting of the most modern designer furniture. Neo-Gothic meets Simplicity. That’s how I would describe the hotel’s makeup.

Zack! There it was my idea: Sober Glamour – inspired by the location. Based on that, I created the concept for the shoot. It was important to me that the special building with its expressive arches, arches and windows is integrated into the shooting.

The model and the dresses by the Cologne designer Annika Maria Wedding Dresses should be in the foreground. The modern model was to represent the light in the ancient location – A Light (Model ) in the Grey (Location). In the selection of exclusive Bridal Cotoure, we placed emphasis on extravagant cuts, shapes & fabrics, as well as modern. Who combines these attributes like Annika Maria? Hardly anyone.

For the make-up, Maria Overath conjured up a simple, natural make-up so that the focus was on the models and their facial features. For the Bridal Accescoires, the focus was on minimalist design. So I found the essentials by Ariane Ernst very fitting as a contrast to the eye-catching dresses and the gorgeous location.

For the stationery, Andrea from Paperfold also combined classic & modern. Classic colors like black & white, a mix of romantic fonts and block fonts reflect the overall concept also in the stationery. As a special feature, Andrea conjured up a Welcome Box. A Welcome Box can be sent to the bride and groom with some goodies like directions, daily schedule, fans for hot summer days and in our case a personalized corona mask as well as disinfectant as a small advance guest gift together with the invitation.

The floristry and decor style was a little more wild & free than we are usually used to from weddings. Shabby Chick Events, for example, worked a lot with ripped fabrics to again contrast with the classic location. As you can see the contrast was always in the foreground in every part of the shoot. When pinning the flowers, they worked with different depths and heights to maintain a wild look. This look was brought into focus very nicely in contrast to the old walls & windows.

Florentine from La Fiorentina works exclusively with vegetarian and vegan ingredients and worked out a cake for us in different shades of gray and a wide variety of textures. The base of the cake reflects the location. The abstract cake topper is again used as a modern contrast. On the table, we provided a mini version of the large cake for each of the guests as inspiration for another guest gift.“
